5x roasted bamboo salt (jugyeom) is a premium Korean specialty salt made by packing sea salt into hollow bamboo stalks, sealing them with mineral-rich yellow clay, and roasting them over pine wood. The 5-cycle roasting process purifies the salt, lowers toxicity, and infuses it with alkaline minerals.

How It's Made

1. PREPARATION: Sun-dried sea salt is packed into the hollow trunks of 3-year-old bamboo.

2. CAPPING: The ends of the bamboo stalks are sealed with iron-rich yellow clay.

3. ROASTING: The stalks are placed in a kiln and fired at intense temperatures (over 1000°C) using pine resin until the bamboo ash blends completely with the salt. This process is repeated 5 times.
